Dr Milica Kecmanovic

I am an experienced Australian clinical psychologist based in Madrid, Spain.

I offer face to face therapy in Madrid as well as online therapy to the international community.

I hold a Bachelor of Psychological Studies and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. I have undertaken advanced training in Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with internationally acclaimed trainers and have presented my research on anxiety and interpersonal problems at international psychology conferences.

In Australia, I worked with adults and adolescents with a wide range of presenting issues in public hospitals and private practice settings as well as in the university and corporate sectors. I bring extensive experience working with diverse cultures to my practice in Madrid, Spain.

My approach is empathetic and tailored to each individual’s unique needs, ensuring that every client feels understood and supported on their path to mental well-being.

I use evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness, with an empathetic and client-centred approach.

Being an expat myself, who has lived in five countries across three continents, I understand the specific challenges and problems that come with moving to a new country and adjusting to a new culture. I know firsthand that change is part of life and can offer wonderful possibilities for personal growth, but it is also challenging, scary, at times confusing and disorientating.

How we navigate and adjust to change, especially cross-culturally, has been a special interest in my work as a psychologist. I can help you navigate this process using evidence based psychological tools combined with my lived experience of the enriching yet sometimes maddening journey of life abroad.

I offer a 15 minute free of charge discovery call, to see if we are a good fit for each other.
